WAYS TO SURVIVE A SNOWSTORM......

#1: Make sure your sleds are working!
#2: Don't forget about the birds-make some treats for them

#3: Don't forget to eat lots of chocolate and drink lots of tea and hot cocoa!!
Oh and don't forget the SNOW CREAM!!!

#4: BUNDLE UP!

#5: Enjoy a sled ride with your sibling!

#6: Get LOTS of rest!
Well it happened. The "GREAT" snowstorm of 2010. Mike and I enjoyed being snowed in so much. Our lives get so busy and sometimes it's nice to be snowed in and have nowhere to go. We had a wonderful time playing with the babies and watching them have a good time. They both had colds so we didn't stay out much with them but made the most of it when they were out. The only time we left the house to venture out on the roads was when we HAD to in order to save a horses life-maybe not that dramatic but it was very sick (ask Rach). I love building memories with my little babies.

Waiting on the Giant Snowstorm

Excitement is the word of the week. Rumor has it that a big snowstorm is headed this way and due to hit Friday night. Now, we don't get much snow around here so we are pretty excited. We've done the true southern thing and run to the grocery store, beat all the "selfish" people out of the way and gotten lots of milk and bread. Not sure why milk and bread but that's the way it's always been.
Since we've had a few 55-60 degree days here lately, we've taken some walks to "Alligator Forest" (named by Noah) here on the farm. No alligator sightings yet but we did get a chance to get our feet muddy and look forward to summertime.
Also, both the babies love having a tea party so we broke out a new tea set and had a proper tea party with hats and everything!! Don't worry, Noah was wearing a very manly cowboy hat.
Here's to hoping we are snowed in for a week!!

More pics from Ye Olde Homeplace

video

I thought I'd post the rest of the pictures from our trip to my Grandmother's house a few weeks ago. The babies had a great time and they loved her steps. Noah would start at the top and slide all the way down (scaring my Grandma to death!). The babies have been a bit cranky this past week I think due sinus infections. Noah is like me, his nose never runs. He just seems to store all that snot up in his head. Nice visual huh??

Noah's little personality keeps shining through and developing. He's a pretty funny little boy, just like his Dadat. Mike told him the other day that he couldn't do something and Noah replied "Oh, COME ON Dadat!!, Are you kidding me??" He's only 3 and this sounded so grown up coming out of his mouth. We laughed about that for an hour.

One thing that has been on my mind is the disaster in Haiti. Please pray for the people of Haiti. Pray that they will find peace and healing in Christ. Pray that their physical and emotional needs will be met. Also, please pray for the orphans of Haiti.

New Years and Dead Possum

HAPPY NEW YEARS to all my blogger friends!! It has been a long time since an update so I'll do my best. Christmas was great (lots of them). The kids had a blast! One of the highlights was going on a lantern lit trek to a barn to hear the Christmas story and see a "baby Jesus" in a manger. Something I'll never forget!
I've been thinking on those dreaded New Year's Resolutions and I really don't dread them so much. If you are up for it, I'll share a few with you.
1.) To order and scrapbook all of Laurel's photos and our trip to Ukraine
2.) To have at least 1 person/couple/family over each month that we want to get to know better.
3.) To start having family devotions & praise time together every night
These are just a few but I acutally look forward to doing these things. I know I'll only be able to accomplish them with the Lord's help and I'm eager to get started!
Oh, I almost forgot. I'll now explain the dead possum' thing. We were at my Grandmother's yesterday and exploring the barns. We stumbled upon a dead (obviously), petrified possum that Rach just HAD to pick up. I'm pretty sure Noah is scarred for life.!
