PERFECT PEACE

There is something about watching a sleeping baby that makes one start to think about peace. They seem to be totally at peace with there surroundings, no matter what the circumstances, who's holding them or what's going on around them. When it's time to sleep, they sleep! It makes me think of one of my favorite verses : "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, will rest in the shadow of the Almighty" Psalm 91:1. How much better would we all "rest" if we just trusted our Saviour to control our circumstances. (Like He doesn't already :)

Marth, I completely understand - that is the exact verse that I think of when watching little tikes sleep. Tell Noah I'm coming for nap time!

Nicely written, Martha!

Yes, they can be very peaceful (but that's only for about 1% of their lifespan). Almost too peaceful at times. Like this morning when I checked on the kids before leaving for work to make sure they were all covered up.

Connor looked like he was dead. One of those (many) moments that freaks out a parent. You hear nothing, you can't see the chest moving. So you put your ear right up against their nose and you can just barely make out a whisp of air going in and out. Whew!

Against this I compare Brandon who was sawing wood! That boy can sure snore at times (he gets that from his mother. oops, did I just say that? ;-)

Dear Joy: I assure you naptime only lasts about 15 min. so don't hurry over!
Richpo: I too have had those moments!! And is it possible for them to be peaceful about .5% of their lifetime?
To Carroll: Yes it IS a pretty blanket... hmm.. wonder where it came from. a
And Lydia: Half of his wardrobe is from your children, the other half is from Nana. :)

Lydia, I did not address you directly nor anything about whether you do or do not snore (no comment). I was addressing, if you read the posting, Brandon's mother in particular. :-)

Now that that's cleared up...

Martha, I believe the "peace index" is anything you want it to be and will vary LARGELY over the life of the child. You just hope it continues to increase along with their mental and chronological ages!
