The Mountains are Calling... and I Must Go.

This is the Fam at Mast General Store

If you've never been to the Daniel Boone, you have no idea what you are missing or what your capacity to hold food is. Noah got to try lots of new foods.

Antique shopping in downtown Boone. Getting a piggy back ride from Daddy.

The park in Blowing Rock was one of our favorite things. Noah got to get out and relax in the grass a little. Look how good he can sit up now!

And this says it all. After a long hard day of shopping and playing and eating.

So we went on our first family vacation. We were a little scared of what might happen but Noah was a pure joy. We went to Blowing Rock and visited the Daniel Boone Inn, Mast General Store, Boone and enjoyed playing in the park. It was so relaxing, no work, no phones just our little family. I can't wait to do it again. If you haven't had a vacation lately..... I highly recommend one.

What a fun time! We went there last year with all four kids and had a blast! We didn't try Daniel Boone Restaurant though, is it really that good? I think (hope) Rich and are are going to go caving and white water rafting there this fall so we'll have to eat there then!

How sweet! I too have never enjoyed the Daniel Boone Inn. Just remember...Noah needs to be at least 10 before you take him on the train at Tweetsie Railroad - if you want to avoid the therapy bills...

Awe, those pictures are really good. I love the one of you three together. We'll definately have to all get together and go back up there again with the kids. And Jacob said to tell Noah to come on over any time, the water's nice. :)

looks like a great time! So, funny because Ken, Rachel and Jon were up there and I just saw their pics of the DBR. Boone is really a fun place to go with kids or without.
Yeah for Noah and his 1st family vacation!

l.I am so glad that I'm not the only one who was scarred for life by the train ride at Tweetsie.

You couldn't have picked a better place to go!
Please tell me you went to the yummy fudge/ice cream shop in Blowing Rock--Kilwins. If not, you'll have to do it on your next vacation there. It's where I went for ice cream on the one day I decided to skip one of my classes, and it was SO worth it!
I also enjoy the 3-story antique shop in Boone! I could spend hours looking at everything in there!

Miranda, of course we went to Kilwins. That was our breakfast on Tues. am at 10am for Mike's birthday. We had ice cream and then I got a chocolate covered cherry (dark chocolate). Oh my I'm drooling.
