THE ELEPHANTS REALLY PUT ON A SPLASHING SHOW

NOAH LOVED THE BIRDS IN THE AVIARY

Because the last couple of weeks have been pretty tough for Noah, Mike decided that we'd take a trip to the zoo on Saturday morning. So, we packed up all our junk and miraclulously (sp?) we were out of the house by 9:30am!! So to the zoo we went. I don't know who was more excited about it, us or Noah. I pretty sure it was us. So we saw all the cute little fuzzys except the ones they said were put away because it was too hot for them. We found it strange that it was mostly the ones in the Africa exibit that had too be moved. Noah's favorite place was the aviary even though we all almost died from heat exhaustion because it was at least 100 F in there. He also loved the seals. Those happen to be my favorite too!!
In other news....... CONGRATS to Tommy and Leanna! Your ring is beautiful. You two are PERFECT together. Oh and I too highly recommend the movie EXPELLED. On Sunday about 14 of the College/Career group went to see it and we left there pumped up! It was very moving and interesting. I hope everyone gets to see this thought provoking movie.

OUR HAPPY SMILE
NOAH'S HAIR AFTER WE GOT ALL OF THE GLUE AND ELECTRODES OFF
Noah's EEG results came back normal!! Praise the Lord. Now we just have the MRI on the 8th. He seems to be feeling much better and no high fevers since Tuesday. We are still going ahead with the MRI however just to make sure that his headaches are nothing serious. Thank you all for your prayers and concern. Keep praying!
PS: Mike has been sucked into the blogging world so see his new blog on my friends list or go to http://travelswiththebugman.blogspot.com

RETREAT

FBC LADIES RETREAT 2008
Angie was the only one brave enough to face the freezing water!

Cora's lesson on how we are each tied together and how what we do affects each other either good or bad (it involved string, a spoon and going down the shirt-don't ask :)

Nightly walks on the beach

Um yes, it was a little chilly

Our view from one of the decks
A skit on Faith and Folly. Ruby was Naive. Very funny girls!

Sonia and Michelle
Gorgeous walks on the beach. Perfect for contemplating.

So much is happening and I can't even begin to touch it with this short blog post. I spent the weekend at a Ladies Retreat and had an awesome time. I was so encouraged by the teaching. The theme was How God's greatness grows our faith and faithfulness. We covered Hebrews 11 and the faith "hall of fame." It was so good to hear the old Bible stories that most of us know, retold and the challenges that they faced and how that they were ordinary people with extraordinary faith!!! What made it even more real was knowing and hearing about the challenges that some of these women had faced and were facing even that week. New friendships were made, new decisions decided upon and hopefully we will all be able to remember and apply what we learned back in our busy, crazy lives. Another element that was added to the retreat was Noah being sick back at home. His fever came back on Saturday and stayed until mid day Sunday. The ladies were so good to pray for him each time it spiked and after they prayed Mike called and said his fever had broke. Thank you for all of your support ladies!! As far as Noah is concerned, we spent Monday in the doctor's office with a high fever and strange behavior (well he is my child). They did bloodwork and a urinalysis and still believe that this is virus related. We do go tomorrow (Wednesday) for an EEG to make sure that this is not seizure activity. Please pray for him tomorrow because it is a very stressful test on him. The MRI is scheduled for May 8th to investigate his headaches. Through all of this I still know God is faithful no matter what the outcome. He is the Great Physician and has asked us to come to Him in times of need. So that's exactly what we are doing. Thank you for your prayers!

SPRINGTIME-NEW BEGINNINGS

I'm pretty convinced that Springtime is my absolute favorite time of year, that is until fall comes. What I love about Spring is that it is a time for new beginnings. Until lately, I've always thought about it being a time for new happy beginnings but I'm not so sure now. It seems there is a lot of beginnings of trials for people around me. Lauren, Charlene, Aunt Janie and many more that I probably don't even know about yet. And to add to that list is Noah. We spent Sunday night in the ER until about 4:30am (not for fun mind you) because Noah had spiked a fever of 103 and because of that, had a seizure. We are home now and the doctors tell me that is nothing too abnormal for a toddler his age and most likely due to a virus. Now we have a appointment with the neurologist on Thursday for a consult and to set a time for an MRI. He's been having headaches and they don't want to leave that unexplained. So.... can Spring still be a time for new beginnings? ABSOLUTELY. I can tell you without a doubt that my faith has grown so much lately (that seems to happen when you are sitting by helpless unable to do anything but pray). I am so comforted by the Scriptures that I read about God being our comfort in times of trouble. I am reminded of my favorite verse of all times : Nahum 1:7, "The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble. He knoweth them that trust in him." Please pray for those around you and remember to thank the Lord for the things you have. God can do great things through these trials. I am so looking forward to being with about 23 other women this weekend for the retreat at the beach to have some fun, fellowship and to spiritually recharge. Thank you Lord for new beginnings.

SILENT NIGHT?

OK ,before you all think that we are HORRIBLE parents, a little disclaimer here. Noah has always hated this book. It has made him cry since he was little, BUT he always (at least every couple of weeks) brings it to us to read to him. We remind him that it makes him cry but then he cries because he can't read it so...... what to do? Well, this time for posterities (sp?) sake we thought we'd film it. So enjoy Silent Night.

The Essence of Cuteness

Noah "riding" Arnie
Playing Peekaboo with Mama

He's a "high tech" Redneck

Noah and Steven-definate blackmail material in 10 years

Watching Daddy mow the grass with some body spray in one hand and an egg in the other

Warning!!! If you do not want to hear shear, unadulterated gushing from a proud Mama-stop reading immediately. I can't help it, today's blog will be dedicated to the profound cuteness of children. All of these pics were taken from this week. Noah's sense of humor is definately coming out and I'm a little worried. It's pretty much like his Daddy's. What will I do with two of them??
