It's Springtime and this year we are planting a garden. Grandaddy said he would use his bright red, newly redone tractor to help plow it and so a few minutes later we had a HUGE plowed area! We are planting tomatoes, okra, beans, squash, cucumbers, sunflowers and some wild onions. Yes, come June I will be cursing the day we decided to do this, but until then I think it's going to be fun. Noah just loves running back and forth over the rows and making tractor sounds while pretending to drive the tractor.

BECAUSE HE LIVES.....
The Sunrise from my kitchen window on Good Friday
Some of the beautiful flowers in my Grandma's yard
Noah playing in a cow feeding trough
Some of the men (and Rachael) standing around holding up the truck
Easter Egg hunt!
Playing Babaloo on Great-Grandma's bird feeder
All of the family together after a wonderful church service
Chocolate OVERLOAD at Nana and Poppy's
Another Egg hunt and one egg in each hand, of course
I am hoping that everyone had a blessed Easter. Jesus is not dead. He is alive and waiting for you to invite Him into your heart if you already haven't done so. This was a very busy but joyous Easter for our family. It started by a trip to my Grandma's house a few hours away to have a large family gathering at the old homeplace. One with no running water, electricity or bathroom I might add. But, it was such a good time and so neat to see the house being restored. Noah was outdoors ALL day with the cows so he was happy. He even napped in the clover :) Next, Mike went to our church's sunrise service, bright and early. Noah and Mommy however stayed in bed. The church service was wonderful and uplifting! The music was so moving and our favorite song was "Because He Lives". We both got choked up on the line "I know this child can face uncertain days, because He lives!". Amen to that! After church we went to Nana and Poppy's for lunch. Noah was thrilled with his new Elmo videos (his latest addiction). Then we had an Easter egg hunt with real dyed eggs! Noah had a ball. So I'm writing this, thoroughly exhausted and used up but deleriously happy. Because He Lives, I can face tommorow!

Exercise
So Noah and I have been trying to get a little more exercise around the farm (and in the house). We've been for long walks, strolls in the wagon, down to see the horses (and sit in their food bowls), and the new favorite...playing basketball in the house. Lots of good fun and memories are being made. I just hope the long walks pay off in a little weight loss for me :)

FOUND THINGS
Since it has been so beautiful the past few days, Noah and I have taken advantage of the weather and gone on some long walks around the farm. We have enjoyed the new budding flowers and Noah has enjoyed picking a few things up along the way. We found a bird's nest, empty of course, made with a snake skin intertwined in it. We also picked a beautiful camelia from Aunt Claudia's yard. Then Noah found a pretty blue piece of glass from an old bottle and some other gross blue thing that I think was used on Aunt Rachael's horses leg. It was a wonderful day and one that I treasure. I love seeing how little it takes to make a child happy. I could really learn a lesson it that.
